As candid Clitheroe wedding photographers and videographers we love meeting couples who want to enjoy their day with minimal fuss. The kind of people who are up for a laugh right from the moment we arrive – This was just the case when we walked into Alex & Joe’s Hobbit Hill Wedding!
We’ve created several Hobbit Hill wedding videos now: The woodland ceremony area and the whole rustic charm of the venue is so gorgeous, you really can see why they’re a popular Clitheore wedding venue.
Alex spent her morning getting ready with her bridesmaids, mum and their gorgeous little girl Freya… And Joe made his way to the venue with his groomsmen in tow, The nicest bunch of guys we’ve could’ve asked for.

Alex was helped into her beautiful dress by her mum, and when mum’s nails couldn’t manage the buttons, the incredible hairdresser Hair by Zoe stepped up! We love meeting wedding vendors that go that extra mile for their couples, and after Alex had her veil fitted it was time for the bridesmaids reveal. Each one so individual at every wedding. Her best friends, Joe’s mum and her gorgeous happy little one freya were so emotional watching Alex walk down the stairs all ready to get married to that hunk of a man, Joe!
Meanwhile Joe was keeping his cool making his way over to the woodland ceremony spot with their guests, The perfect spot for their boho rustic wedding ceremony.
Alex & Joe are huge music fans and wanted to add that live music element into their day, with Al Grant Sax playing Alex & her bridal party down the aisle. But before Alex turned the corner is was baby Freya’s moment to shine – Joe was doing an awesome job of looking all calm and collected but when he saw little Freya his face lit up, it really was the most perfect moment when she ran towards him, with some guidance from granny, screeching – she clearly loves her daddy… and after she made her way down was pretty certain she wasn’t going back to granny for mum coming down the aisle. Priceless!
Then came Alex, with her bridesmaids helping carry her cathedral veil through the woods, they made their way down to Alex accompanied by Al Grant Sax on saxophone.
“Their warm, down-to-earth presence and rapport with our guests created a joyful, relaxed atmosphere, and it’s reflected in each minute of our videos”
Little Freya had to have her moment during the ceremony of being picked up by mum, then passed to dad, then mum again and back to dad – They just about put the rings on with her in Joe’s arms.
After their first kiss, and signing the register Alex & Joe were announced as husband and wife and literally skipped back up the aisle with happiness – something we won’t be forgetting anytime soon! Moments like this really make a Hobbit Hill Wedding Film shine, and we even managed to catch it from above, our drone peeking through a gap in the lush green canopy that hung over this gorgeous Clitheroe wedding ceremony.
Confetti was thrown through the woods and we were onto the drinks reception – where the lawn games by Sid & Olive, Al Grant Sax and the awesome magician Magic Mike came out to play! Alex & Joe really had thought of everything when it came to showing their guests a bloody good time!
One of the many benefits of booking a single wedding supplier for your Clitheroe wedding photography and videography is how seamlessly they work together. As The Taylors Film & Photo we both like to capture as much as we possibly can for your photo gallery and films, We’ll be working on opposite sides of the room, photographing different angles during your couples photos, We work in tandem with each other to give you the best possible experience we can. Alex & Joe’s wedding was no exception, Whilst Matt Is setting up tripods for the speeches Soph is covering some of the beautiful details by Sonje Jones in the reception room on photo and film, Whilst Soph is filming the magician (Mike’s Magic) showing his tricks Matt is capturing guests reactions. The end result is a wedding gallery/films that feels dense, detailed and filled with the absolute best moments from your wedding day.
Lancashire Wedding Videography
Speaking of speeches, Alex & Joe went all out with them, and may have even had a rogue speaker at the end of the meal ;). After their pretty epic entrance into the breakfast space Joe’s groomsmen made us all (yes us included) burst into fits of laughter and almost shed a tear or two – it was clear that both Alex & Joe have surrounded themselves with a pretty awesome bunch of friends and family, We felt so lucky to be a part of it all.
Post speeches it was back out onto the sprawling lawns of Hobbit Hill to give them time to turn around the room for the evening. More drinks, more lawn games by Sid & Olive Wedding & Event Hire, and all perfectly underscored by the gentle yet upbeat musical stylings of Laura’s Paper Heart Music on acoustic guitar and vocals. This brought a moment of calm before the storm, although once she broke out her rendition of Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer, she had pretty much the whole of the wedding party singing and dancing along.
As the lazy Lancashire sun slid it’s way down behind the tree line, Alex & Joe hit the dancefloor with an epic first dance to an absolute classic track: Set you free by N’Trance, showing once again that these were anything but traditionalists. The dancefloor flooded with their closest friends and family and stayed that way for the rest of the night. All the while, the energy was maintained perfectly by their DJ for the evening, Club Class Entertainment, spinning and mixing like some kind of evil song-goblin.
We left Alex & Joe’s Hobbit Hill wedding feeling like family, and that’s all down to these two incredible humans making us feel from the very start that we were not just welcome, but kindred spirits. We struggle to remember a wedding where we had more fun and laughs, and we can’t wait for the opportunity to create more epic Lancashire wedding photography and videography just as soon as it arises.
Thank you Alex & Joe from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us as your Clitheroe wedding photographer and videographer!
