Some weddings feel like poetry, and Hannah and Pete's day at The River Mill in Derbyshire was just
that--a heartfelt ode to love, family, and laughter. With the serene River Derwent as its backdrop,
this venue, rich in history and natural beauty, was the perfect setting for their rainy September wedding.
As the sky continued it’s campaign of wetness, Hannah started her morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, with makeup artist
@samanthakatebridal working her magic. The energy was warm and relaxed, though tinged with
excitement. A particularly touching moment came when her dad, Simon, saw her in her dress for the
first time just before Hannah walked down the aisle - His reaction was so touching-equal parts awe and pure pride.
Meanwhile, Pete arrived at the venue with his groomsmen, finalising details and greeting guests with
his usual charm. Their daughter, Cleo, was busy perfecting her flower girl duties with her
granny… she definitely stole our hearts.
The ceremony was held in front of a beautiful draped backdrop and disco balls dressed by tara knott, whom we met at river mill exactly 1 year during Lindsey & myles’ wedding.
Cleo and granny Jude walked down the aisle ahead of mum ad her bridesmaids, The look on Pete's face as he
watched baby Cleo throw her petals was everything… and Hannah’s ‘hey babe’ when she met Pete was so effortless, so - them.
Adding to the charm, and our utter excitement, Chester, the couple's golden Labrador, waited patiently nearby, ready to join
the newlyweds for post-confetti photos.
After sealing their vows, the couple stepped outside into a confetti tunnel--a kaleidoscope of colour and joy.
Hannah had put so much thought into selecting the perfect confetti, settling on biodegradable paper
circles from ProperConfetti. It was a brilliant choice. The vibrant rainbow of colours seemed to
hang in the air for their entire walk down the line, creating an explosion of colour that looked
absolutely stunning on camera!
As Rainy September continued the drinks reception brought guests indoors due to a light drizzle but that is where reception entertainment becomes ever so important - Hannah & Pete booked the lovely bethaniehoughtonmusic to entertain their guests with some classics, and had a couple of people dancing at 2pm on a Sunday - Job well done there, Beth! Beth had just come back from a wedding n Tuscany, and After capturing Laura & Connor’s Tuscany wedding earlier in the summer, we know how exhausting travelling and working can be - she absolutely knocked it out of the park!
The evening kicked off with the couple's first dance, let’s stay together by ‘Al Green’ and as the dance floor opened up, DJ @djkarlton kept the energy high, while guests explored fun extras like the beer pong table and shimmer wall by @simplysophisticated_decor.
