On the 27th of September, We were back at the gorgeous Primrose Hill Farm in Oxfordshire, which is basically our 2nd home at this point. Laura and George found us via their instagram feed a year ago, and love how vibrant and fun our videos were… Little did we know what we were in store for with their day!
The ceremony was a delightful mix of emotion and laughter, thanks in part to two groomsmen who took on the whimsical role of flower girls. As they tossed petals into the crowd to the catchy rhythm of Bruno Mars’ "Marry You," their hilarious dance moves instantly put everyone at ease, making the atmosphere warm and inviting.
And when Laura floated down the aisle she had everyone gasping at how stunning she looked and as she got down the aisle they chose to say personal vows to each other just before exchanging their wedding rings, these beautiful, personal vows were our first indication that we might have a bit of trouble keeping it together emotionally on this wedding. The love between these two was palpable, and as they gazed into each other’s eyes, you could see as clear as day what Laura meant in her vows when she wrote “Yay, I did it… I found my person!”
During the signing of the register, bridesmaid Beth showcased her impressive vocal talent, singing "How Long Will I Love You" by Ellie Goulding and "I Can’t Help Falling In Love" by Elvis. Her performance was a heartfelt tribute that resonated with Laura and George’s shared passion for musical theatre, and it added a lovely touch of intimacy to the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a stunning confetti shower made from colourful flower petals, it was clear Laura & George had been practising their ‘dip and kiss’ for this exact moment, as they nailed it flawlessly! We love it when a moment like this comes along, and we’re not too big to admit that we shared a glance between ourselves that said ‘Yup’.
"...Soph & Matt were so friendly and put us at ease completely. They documented the day without getting in the way of any crucial moments, they worked brilliantly with our photographer, and they were such a calming and friendly presence..."
We had a blast capturing the newlyweds and their wedding party as they posed with vibrant pink and orange smoke grenades. There was a particularly funny moment when the wind suddenly changed direction, engulfing Laura and George in a cloud of smoke just as we were filming. For several seconds, we couldn’t see them at all, which made for a hilarious and unforgettable scene!
The evening festivities kicked into high gear with a surprise performance by The Undercover Waiters, a lively group we’ve worked with before. Their act began with a masterful moment of misdirection—a waiter pretended to trip and drop a metal bucket full of cutlery, creating an initial gasp of shock from the crowd. This tension hung in the air for just a heartbeat, only to be joyously released as the waiter leapt to his feet with a microphone in hand, belting out their first number. The surprise and delight on the faces of the wedding party were priceless, as they quickly realised it was all part of the act. The Undercover Waiters entertained everyone with a fantastic mix of swing and modern hits, keeping spirits high and laughter flowing.
As the night continued, Laura and George took to the dance floor for their first dance, a choreographed routine that showcased their chemistry and joy. The couple had clearly practiced their routine to perfection, moving with energy and enthusiasm that lit up the dance floor. Their smiles were infectious, and soon enough, their guests joined in as they danced the night away to the ridgeways: a fantastic band known for their pop, funk, rock, and soul tunes.
Laura and George, thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful day! It was a genuine pleasure to capture these moments, and we truly enjoyed every second of editing your films.
